Mardi Gras Magic

Mardi Gras Magic is an abstract tribute to Mardi Gras night parades. It is done in silhouette to emphasize the “Official Colors” of New Orleans’ Mardi Gras. These colors may not be showing up on the “catwalks” in Paris or New York anytime soon, no Mardi Gras scene would be complete without them, ask any native New Orleanian.

Mardi Gras is a celebration that climaxes days of feasting and festival. The colors purple, green and gold are synonymous with Mardi Gras and symbolize justice, faith and power. The Krewe of Rex selected the colors in 1872 and symbolic meanings of the colors given in 1892.

Double-signed, A Certificate of Authenticity and Artist’s Statement are also included.
